Mandatory Signs
Mandatory signs should be used to indicate actions that must be carried out in order to comply with statutory requirements.
Mandatory signs should have white text and white pictogram on a blue background. These signs are instantly recognisable, just like warning signs, prohibition signs and emergency signs.
Instructions on mandatory signs include "Must" where there is no room for people to make assumptions whether they "should" or "should not" complete the action.
